The Concept
Time is the most valuable resource we have, yet managing it often requires juggling multiple apps—a world clock here, a Pomodoro timer there, a todo list somewhere else. Temporalis solves this fragmentation by bringing everything into one cohesive experience.
The idea was simple: create a single dashboard where users can:
See every time zone at a glance
Stay productive with built‑in Pomodoro and todo tools
Plan their days with a calendar and daily planner
Track time with stopwatch and timer features
Maintain focus with ambient white noise
All wrapped in a sleek, modern interface that feels like a command center for time.

Seamless Integration
The different tools don't exist in isolation. A task created in the todo list appears in the daily planner. The Pomodoro timer can sync with the calendar to block focus sessions. White noise can be set to automatically play during Pomodoro focus intervals.

Users can close the browser and return later—all their time zones, tasks, events, and preferences are exactly as they left them.
Real‑Time Updates
World clocks update every second without page refresh. Timers and stopwatches maintain accuracy even when the tab is inactive.
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge 1: Time Zone Accuracy
Problem: Displaying accurate time across hundreds of time zones with daylight saving changes. Solution: Used the native Intl.DateTimeFormat API with IANA time zone database strings (e.g., "America/New_York") instead of manual UTC offsets, ensuring automatic DST handling.
Challenge 2: Audio Playback Restrictions
Problem: Modern browsers block autoplay audio until user interaction. Solution: Implemented a "Enable Audio" button on first load and persisted user preference. All audio controls become available after initial user gesture.
Challenge 3: Performance with Multiple Real‑Time Clocks
Problem: Running 10+ clocks updating every second could cause performance issues. Solution: Used a single global timer that updates all clocks in one batch, minimizing DOM manipulations. Implemented requestAnimationFrame for smooth updates.
Challenge 4: Data Persistence
Problem: Managing complex data structures (tasks with priorities, events with dates, multiple time zones) in localStorage. Solution: Created a unified data store with versioned schemas and migration logic for future updates.
